The Sandbar in Vail will host the Skateboarding in Schools Awareness Fundraiser tonight.
Anne Panzieri and Skate Pass, LLC, hope to bring skateboarding into local community schools here in the Vail Valley. Skate Pass, a Boulder-based company, is on a mission to “bring skateboarding into schools across the world to address the growing trend of alternative activities; to emphasize the heart of skateboarding, which includes individual creative expression, cooperation, and friendship; and to support the health and well-being of students,” according to the companies mission statement.
The event will include food, fun, beverages, door prizes and art. DJ Pippen will spin. Well-known artist, skater and hip hop performer Bukue One, of Hieroglyphics fame, will perform, as well as show off his artistic abilities on the Sandbar wall.
