VAIL — The Vail Public Library and town of Vail's Art in Public Places present Linda Batlin from Boulder Thursday afternoon. Batlin, a professional storyteller and author, is coming to enchant Vail audiences as part of the Fifth Annual Triumph Winterfest. Batlin's recent travels to Manitoba, Canada gave her the opportunity to observe and learn about polar bears. Oral storytelling engages the imagination and captivates audiences in different ways than modern media.
The Fireside Storytelling is from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday. Hot cocoa and games will be part of this free outdoor event, which will be held next to the fire pit on Gore Creek Promenade. Follow the polar bear paw prints through the village to the wonderful snow sculptures created by Karl Krueger.
Children under six must be accompanied by an adult. For more information on this free event, call 970-479-2187 or visit www.vaillibrary.com.
