VAIL — Brenda Buglione is what lucky looks like.
The Vail resident and former U.S. Ski Team member has a national television show broadcast on Fox Sports Net and a new website to help promote it.
“I live here, and I get to do this,” she said.
Luck is good; talent and drive are better.
The show, “Snow Motion,” is a video magazine aimed at capturing the mountain lifestyle. The website is www.snow-motion.com so you can find out when.
“We travel the world bringing the viewer with us,” Buglione said. “I'll introduce you to the skier behind their goggles through fun interviews. I want to make heroes out of all of our snowsport athletes.”

Ski racers raising little ski racers
Buglione raced for the U.S. Ski Team on the World Cup tour, then on the Pro Tour.HBO was one of her pro tour sponsors. Here's how that one went:
She was working an internship, giving people stress tests in New York City, where it's pretty easy to find stress.
One day in the HBO offices, she was making an exercise bike beg for mercy, and on the bike next to hers was HBO's vice president of marketing — who wasn't begging for mercy … yet.
“You should sponsor me,” Buglione said to the sweating suit.
The suit looked at her, noticed she wasn't sweating nearly as much as he was, and decided to listen some more. Talking was out of the question.
She offered to emblazon HBO on her shin guards, her helmet or pretty much any other hard surface.
The pedaling vice president was unable to refuse, so they struck a deal and Buglione became their skiing celebrity. When big dogs wanted to ski, they skied with her.
It's a pretty big deal. Jack Nicklaus was HBO's celebrity golfer.
She started writing ski tips, had someone shoot them and put them on local channels.
A regional sports network found her, then Fox Sports Net picked her up and she went national.
She married the former captain of the Dartmouth ski team, and they have three kids — all ski racers with Ski and Snowboard Club Vail.
“Now, the best part is skiing with my family, my kids and seeing them do well in the sports,” she said.
She just got back from Squaw Valley where her kids were racing.
“He's a ski racer, I'm a ski racer and we're raising little ski racers,” she said.
‘A great ambassador for the sport of skiing'
But the show reaches well beyond ski racing. “I have a crazy passion for skiing, I love it and I love helping people get into the sport,” she said. “I love to share tips like skiing together as a family, how to navigate the bumps and how to enjoy a powder day.”
There's a clip from a hot ski film every week, sent in by filmmakers of some of the top up-and-coming talent, she said.
There's some lifestyle material — they follow the Dew Tour, profile bumpers, racers, big mountain skiers and biathlon.
“We're getting to know everyone who represents the U.S.,” she said.
Throw in some on-location ski celebrity interviews, worldwide ski resort highlights, ski tips and advice, and you have yourself a popular television show.
Buglione owns her show, negotiates her own contracts, sells her share of the commercial spots and handles her own production.
Viewers get ski vacation suggestions, help planning their next vacation and extreme skiing footage from around the world.
“Brenda is a great ambassador for the sport of skiing,” said Mike Noonan, president of Volkl Skis. “Her passion for skiing is contagious. She has represented our company when she was a racer and is now the perfect spokesperson for our brand.”
