A plaque honoring Charles Minot “Minnie” Dole was rededicated at the top of Minnie's trail on Vail Mountain on Tuesday. The ceremony was part of a week of events honoring the veterans of the 10th Mountain Division. Dole was the founder of the National Ski Patrol and was the father of the 10th Mountain Division. Vail pioneers Pete Seibert and Bob Parker, both 10th Mountain vets, had the original plaque installed in 1971 as the trail was renamed in Dole's honor. Dole's son, Mint, noticed last year that the plaque was gone. He worked with the Colorado Ski Museum to create a copy of the plaque for the mountain. Testwuide is a former Vail ski patroller, ski patrol director and mountain executive. Eleven 10th Mountain vets, ages 88 to 93, attended the mountain ceremony.
