In Eagle County, 46 percent of adults are overweight or obese, while 18 percent of Eagle County's children and adolescents ages 2 to 14 are overweight or obese. As part of the effort to help discuss health in our community, Eagle County Public Health is hosting a free screening of the HBO documentary "The Weight of the Nation" on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Avon Public Library. Eagle County Public Health, in partnership with Avon Public Library and Vail Valley Medical Center, will screen two short documentaries. A comprehensive discussion and question-and-answer session will follow the screening, and refreshments will be provided. The event will be offered in English and Spanish. For more information, contact Jess Hankins at 970-328-8855 or
