Vail Valley kids get kicks and swings

EAGLE, Colorado — The Western Eagle County Metropolitan Recreation District and the Youth Foundation are getting together to provide soccer programs for a $25 in Eagle, Gypsum and Edwards.

“We feel our role as the leading recreation provider in Eagle County is to expose as many kids under the age of 12 as we can to recreational programs,” WECMRD’s Mike Staten said.

Soccer and lacrosse programs will be offered in April and May. Youth baseball and softball will run in June and July.

For kids who want to play both soccer and lacrosse, the schedule can be adjusted.

Soccer practices are planned Mondays and Wednesdays with games on Saturday mornings.

Lacrosse practices are planned Tuesdays and Thursdays with games on Saturday afternoons.

Registration is open for youth soccer and lacrosse. The deadline for all sessions except the U12 division is March 7.
