Wolcott survey results in, check attachment

Print Comment
EAGLE COUNTY — Results of a survey about how much development should happen in Wolcott are on the county’s Web site, www.eaglecounty.us and as a WEB EXTRA on the right.

The results of the recent Wolcott Survey have been compiled and are now available for viewing. The survey was conducted in August to collect public opinion regarding future development in the Wolcott area.

With over 100 responses and 1,000 associated comments, the survey will provide information and ideas to Community Development planners as the Eagle County Planning Commission moves toward the adoption of an updated Wolcott Area Community Plan.

Staff and the County’s planning consultant, Shapins Associates, are now hard at work summarizing the variety of messages and themes contained within the survey results.

Those summaries will be posted as they become available, and will be used to formulate objectives, policies and implementation strategies for the various character areas identified within the Wolcott planning area.

A final draft of the updated plan is scheduled to be completed in early 2008, at which time it will be presented to the citizens of Eagle County in an open community meeting.

Adoption by the Planning Commission will follow in public session. In the interim, the Planning Commission will be reviewing various components of the plan as it is being assembled. Interested parties are encouraged to attend the community meeting and any of the public hearings regarding this plan.

The raw data, which includes comments associated with each question, can be found at www.eaglecounty.us or you may contact Cliff Simonton at 970-328-8751 or clifford.simonton@eaglecounty.us with questions or comments.
