BEAVER CREEK — Beaver Creek will open more than 200 acres today after getting more than a foot of snow over the last couple of days.

The Strawberry Park Express Lift will run for the first time today, with the President Ford’s and Stacker trails open.

Centennial and 1876 will also open on the main mountain.

The Bachelor Gulch lift opened Friday.

By Saturday, 806 acres will be open at Beaver Creek. The mountain has 1,805 total acres.

“The resort hopes to open Larkspur Bowl and Grouse Mountain in the near future,” said a press release sent Friday.

The Beaver Creek Nordic Center will also open for the season Saturday with 10-15 kilometers of trails for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.

Beaver Creek reported 8 inches Friday morning. Another 5 inches had fallen between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday, the resort said.
