VAIL, Colorado Police are seeking witnesses to the smashing of an ice sculpture around 1:30 a.m. Monday morning in Vail Village.
The ice sculpture was shaped like a lemonade stand and was sitting near the Covered Bridge to help raise money for a childrens cancer fund called Alexs Lemonade Stand.
Witnesses saw two men and one woman in the village throwing what may have been chunks, Vail police Detective Sgt. Craig Bettis said.
But police didnt know whether those people smashed the ice sculpture or whether they had came upon it after it had been smashed, Bettis said.
There are going to be more ice sculptures throughout town this winter, and police will work harder to protect those, he said.
Anyone who has information on the incident is asked to call Vail police at 479-2201.
