The Bud Light Hot Summer Nights concert series has proven to be THE social event of the summer season. Outstanding musicians perform for free at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, before the backdrop of the Gore Range. A project of the Vail Valley Foundation, the Tuesday night series runs from mid-June through August, and has featured such prolific musicians as The Wailers, Dirks Bently and the Dixie Chicks.
Minturn might be a sleepy little town, but it wakes right up every Saturday during the summer. The Minturn Market usually entails more than 100 vendors selling fruits, veggies, snacks, sweaters, sculptures, pesto, jewelry... the list goes on and on. And sometimes there's even jugglers. The word is out: Vail is a fine place to spend the summer. No less than the musicians of the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Rochester Philharmonic agree. The three top-tier orchestras each have a two-week residency in Vail to play for the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival. There's just nothing like watching the alpenglow hit the mountains and hearing the music rise up from the stage.
