Marketing exec leaving Vail Resorts

Print Comment
VAIL, Colorado — The top marketing executive for Vail and Beaver Creek is leaving Vail Resorts for a Denver company.

Ian Arthur has taken a marketing job at Exclusive Resorts, a vacation club that has some 300 destinations, including properties at Vail and Beaver Creek.

At Vail Resorts, Arthur held the position of vice president of marketing and sales for Vail and Beaver Creek mountains for the last four years.

Arthur said the new job was a good career opportunity for him, a chance to “launch a new category in travel.”

It also allows him to be closer to his family, which lives in Boulder, he said. He’s had been commuting between Eagle County and Boulder for the past two years.

Arthur’s last day at Vail Resorts is Friday. He will be replaced by two people, a director of marketing at Vail and a director of marketing and Beaver Creek. The company is searching for people to fill those positions.

“We’re sorry to see Ian go as he has achieved numerous successes in marketing both Vail and Beaver Creek,” said Kelly Ladyga, a Vail Resorts spokeswoman, citing Beaver Creek’s “Not Exactly Roughing It” campaign as well as Vail’s Snow Daze and Spring Back to Vail festivals.
