I was the Edwards Rotary coordinator for the Chili Cook Off at the Cinco De Mayo festival organized by the Edwards Rotary and held this past Saturday, May 3, in Edwards. We had 14 valiant Chili Cook Off contestants and almost 200 tasters. Each of these Cook Off contestants paid more than $100 in chili ingredients, plus put in about two hours grocery shopping, plus donated about four hours in cooking time, two hours in transportation, one hour of set up time, four hours of time during the tasting talking to all the tasters and serving their chili, plus another hour packing up. (I know because I was one!!) We had four very proud winners who would love it if you could give them a mention.

The winners were:

Amateur Red Chili Category: Brandon Haire of Avon

Exotic Chili Category: KZYR Radio

Corporate Green Chili Category: George Trujillo with the Toponas Country Store in Yampa

Corporate Red Chili: Main St. Grill in Edwards
