If a picture is worth a thousand words, then weve hit the jackpot with EveryScape Vail Valley.
EveryScape Vail Valley is a way for a Web visitor to walk down our streets and explore an attraction, shop or restaurant as if they were actually standing on the street and moving around on foot. Partnership member businesses participating in the program then become EveryScape Vail Valley.
The virtual Vail Valley started to become a reality when the EveryScape creative team, based in Massachusetts, approached the Partnership to solicit our help in getting the local community involved and excited about the project. Knowing other EveryScape destinations include premiere cities, beach and mountain destinations like Beijing, Beverly Hills, Laguna Beach and Aspen, we jumped at the opportunity to partner with the company.
Since February, the Partnership and EveryScape have been working together to scape marquee partner businesses and area attractions to create an online version of the real Vail Valley.
This means potential guests and visitors, as well as local residents, can visit shops, restaurants, activity providers and more before they arrive.
The Partnership thanks all its partners who participated to create the virtual Vail Valley. EveryScape is an example of an ala carte perk we continue to seek to provide our partners. Like other special offers that are unforeseeable and thus not an itemized partner benefit (the Cities by Foot campaign conducted by the Colorado Tourism Office earlier this year is another example), these opportunities demonstrate the Partnerships broader vision to unite and focus the business vitality efforts that will move us all toward making the Vail Valley a 365 economy.
The destination is stronger when we all play together. EveryScape Vail Valley is a perfect example of what can be achieved when we everyone shares the same goal.
Weve been thrilled by the enthusiastic response of Vail Valley merchants, including the Chop House in Beaver Creek and Vail, the Blue Moose in Beaver Creek and Vail, Antlers at Vail, Active Communications, Old Forge Pizza, Beaver Framing and d Mountain Adventure Centers, to name a few, said EveryScape senior director of business development Mark Oliver.
Any time you have an opportunity to show potential visitors and residents our facilities from a live perspective it becomes a win-win situation, Vail Recreation District director of marketing Jamie Gunion said. EveryScape will be a unique tool to reach our online visitors and show them all Vail has to offer from the Vail Recreation District facilities to all the other great amenities Vail has.
Whats also a win-win is that EveryScape Vail Valley will not only be available at everyscape.com but also at www.visitvailvalley.com. EveryScape businesses can also include the link on their own Web sites, becoming a valuable content asset for the promotion and marketing of any business.
The site will launch in late June with the summer edition soon following.
EveryScape will conduct another round of shooting for businesses and summer destination content in early July so contact the Partnership director of marketing Chris Romer at 970-477-4016 or by e-mail at cromer@visivailvalley.com to assure your business is represented in this innovative virtual experience.
Michael Kurz is president and chief executive officer of the Vail Valley Partnership. Contact him at 970-476-1000.
