Glenwood Springs: Peeping Tom at community center?

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado — A woman told police a man tried to take a picture of her while she was showering at the Community Center Monday.

Around 7:55 a.m., the woman was toweling off from a shower in the women’s locker room when she saw a man’s hand reach under the shower stall with what looked like a little camera, said Glenwood Springs Police Lt. Bill Kimminau.

The woman yelled, “What are you doing?” and the hand disappeared. She told police it looked like a Hispanic male’s hand, Kimminau said, but there was little else for police to go on.

“Really all we’ve got is an arm,” Kimminau said.

Police interviewed a woman who may have seen the suspect standing outside the locker rooms around that time. But when she was shown a photograph of a Community Center member thought to be the one standing outside the locker rooms, she said it wasn’t the man she’d seen, according to Kimminau.

There haven’t been any reports of other similar incidents at the Community Center or other athletic clubs in Glenwood, Kimminau said.

No one at the Community Center could be immediately reached for comment.
