AVON Craig Meis, a 23-year veteran of The Anschutz Corporation, has been named Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Vail Capital Partners, Inc.
Vail Capital Partners recently acquired the 117-unit River Run residential complex at Dowd Junction. Meis will be responsible for Vail Capital Partners financial and operational activities, including deal analysis and debt and equity financing.
During his time with The Anschutz Corporation, Meis served in a variety of management positions including Chief Operating Officer of Ansco Investment Company.
Vail Capital Partners founder and managing partner Gary Miller said he is ecstatic to have the Meis expertise at a critical time for the company, which includes its a unique housing project in the Vail Valley. VCP acquired the River Run condominiums in March and its redevelopment is expected to include a large amount of housing for valley professionals.
The depth of Craigs experience with regard to strategic planning and financial management, especially as it relates to his work with The Anschutz Corporation, is key to our success, Miller said.
Meis was responsible at The Anschutz Corporation for numerous start-up ventures.
He was recognized for his efforts in reinventing the Denver-to-Winter Park Ski Train as well as several other innovative business ideas. He was hailed as Savior of the Ski Train in a cover story by Colorado Business Magazine and wasw a recipient of an Award of Honor by the Downtown Denver Partnership for contributions to Denver travel and tourism.
Meis was also Chairman of the Board for the University of Colorado Executive MBA Program from 2001-2006, and is the current Chairman of the Board of the Colorado Film Commission.
