Get ready to rodeo in Avon

The Beaver Creek Summer Rodeo Series returns to Avon tonight

BEAVER CREEK — Dust off your cowboy boots for the return of the seventh annual Beaver Creek Summer Rodeo Series starting June 12 and continuing Thursday nights through August 21.

Saddle up for genuine western excitement with a full line-up of classic rodeo events including bull riding, barrel racing, mutton bustin’, team roping and more. Foodies can enjoy western barbecue and other culinary treats from Moe’s Original BBQ, The Blue Moose, Dusty Boot Saloon and many more.

The rodeo grounds remain the same as last year and are located at Traer Creek in Avon, just east of Chapel Square. Mark your calendars, the rodeo will start at 4 p.m. on July 3 due to the fireworks display, and there will not be a rodeo on July 31.

Battle Mountain High School student Rebecca Bosworth is this year’s Beaver Creek Rodeo Queen, BMHS student Sara Martin is this year’s Queen Attendant and Eagle Valley Middle School student Skylar Rossi has been named this year’s Beaver Creek Rodeo Series Princess.

July 3 rodeo will start at 4 p.m. and there will be no rodeo on July 31.
Where: Traer Creek in Avon.
Cost: $20 for VIP seating, $15 for adults (ages 18-64), $8 for seniors (ages 65 and up), $5 for youth (ages 13-17), and children 12 years and under are free.

Tickets are available in-person in advance at the Beaver Creek Information Center or the evening of the event at the on-site rodeo box office.

Kids can get involved in the calf scramble and mutton bustin’. Height and weight limitations apply for mutton bustin’ and parents must sign a release for both events. Sign-ups will take place at the information booth from 5-6:30 p.m. the night of the rodeo. Other children’s activities include a petting zoo, pony rides and face painting.

Free parking is available directly across the street from the rodeo grounds and alcoholic beverages, pets, and glass containers cannot be brought onto the rodeo grounds. All bags are subject to search by security.
