He will appear at the Denver Performing Arts Complex, where his campaign has reserved a ballroom.
A formal announcement by McCain's campaign on the event is expected by today.
McCain's other visit to Colorado will be at the Aspen Institute on Aug. 14.
The visit comes just two weeks before the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul.
