Programs offered for visually impaired in Eagle County

Three county programs will be aimed at educating and supporting people with vision problems

EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado — Three county programs will be aimed at educating and supporting people with vision problems.

George Beard of the American Council of the Blind of Colorado will be the guest presenter at the three programs. The council is dedicated to promoting the independence, equality and opportunities for blind and visually impaired people in Colorado.

“People of all walks of life can develop some problem with their sight,” said Cheryl

Thomas of Rural Resorts RSVP, the organization hosting the events. “The purpose of these programs is not only to educate people, but also to organize support groups for Eagle and Roaring Fork Valleys.”

The programs will be held at the following times and locations:

• Golden Eagle Senior Center, Eagle - 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 24

• Valley Pines, Basalt - 1:00 p.m., Thursday July 24

• Minturn Community Center, Minturn - 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 25
