EAGLE — The Laughing Bones’ unique Americana rock ‘n’ roll sound have earned them a loyal fan base. They take the stage in Eagle Town Park tonight at 6:30 p.m. as the American National Bank ShowDown Town series continues.

The self-described “bluegrass honky tonk” group has played with the Del McCoury Band, Bill Nershi & Honkytonk Homeslice, The Drew Emmitt Band, Dark Star Orchestra, Great American Taxi and The Young Dubliners, to name a few. They’ve been featured on the bills of countless music festivals, and have played nearly every venue in town.

The Laughing Bones take the stage at the Eagle Town Park at 6:30 p.m. A variety of children’s activities will accompany the free music, including face painting and a visit from the Denver Zoo Animal Expedition. The Denver Zoo visits ShowDown Town with an exciting and dynamic experience that takes kids (and their parents) on an educational safari showcasing live animals. Some of the animals that may make the trip are a Kookaburra (a large bird native to Australia and New Guinea), a Macaw, a Ball Python and an American Aligator names “Snapper.” Kids can hear about geographic biomes around the world, including grasslands, rainforests, deserts and wetlands, and learn about the different animals that calls each of these regions home.

Picnics, coolers and friendly dogs are also welcome at this family-friendly event. Visit www.vvf.org for more information.
