Another Colo abuse suit involving ex-priest

Latest case was filed by a man in his 40s who now lives in California

DENVER, Colorado — Another sexual abuse lawsuit has been filed against the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Denver.

The suit, filed late Thursday, is the third this month accusing the archdiocese of covering up abuse by ex-priest Harold White. He was removed from ministry in 1993 and died in 2006.

The latest case was filed by a man in his 40s who now lives in California. He alleges that he was abused by White in the early 1980s at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Wheat Ridge.

White was named in the bulk of the 18 sexual abuse cases the archdiocese settled earlier this month for $5.5 million.

The archdiocese said Friday it regrets that anyone has experienced childhood sexual abuse by clergy and encouraged victims to come forward.

Current archdiocese policy prohibits anyone credibly accused of abusing a minor to work in church environments.
