Gohan-Ya is celebrating its three-year anniversary. Yuka works hard serving up tasty food. Gohan-Ya’s dishes are sure to satisfy a hungry belly. So come on in and pick up some chicken teriyaki or some sushi rolls, and say hi to Yuka while you’re at it.

The new gift shop at the Vail Valley Medical Center is 600 square feet of wonderful and one-of-a-kind gift items. The bright and inviting shop is always well-stocked, featuring reasonably priced items like stuffed animals, greeting cards, eyeglasses, jewelry, scarves, Pashminas and games for both children and adults. The best parts about the shop are that all of the proceeds are used for items needed by the hospital and volunteers from the Vail Valley Medical Center Volunteer Corps staff the shop. The Corps has donated more than $1 million since it began in 1979. This year, the Corps gave $65,000 toward the purchase of an O-Arm Imaging System, which doctors use during surgery. The gift shop could use some help from volunteers. If you want to help raise money for equipment, please call Amanda Visosky at 970-479-5068. The gift shop is open from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday in the summer, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the winter. More volunteers will allow the shop to stay open longer, including opening on Saturdays and Sundays.
