Congratulations to John Goldstein and Lisa (Guzman) Goldstein, who were married on July 12 at the Maroon Bells in Aspen. It was a beautiful day and gorgeous setting. The wedding was attended by a small, intimate group of friends and family along with the best man, John’s son, Jordan Goldstein. We all wish John and Lisa a happy, healthy life together.

The Salvation Army would like to thank those shoppers who donated to the recent Salvation Army Food Drive, conducted at all the valley’s supermarkets from Gypsum to Vail. Your generosity was overwhelming, and that response will go a long way in helping many throughout the valley who are facing difficult times in this bad economy. You have made a remarkable difference in the lives of those who really need help! Thank you so much.

WECMRD Eagle Outdoor Pool closed for the season on Monday to all our two-legged friends, but on Tuesday before draining the pool, it was Doggie Plunge Day. Lots of our four-legged friends spent the afternoon swimming with friends and chasing balls. A blast was had by all!

Live Like You Were Dying

What would you do if you only had 30 days left to live? What if you had one month to live? How would your life change? What would you do that you have never done before? The Grammy-winning song “Live Like You Were Dying” touched millions of people with its message, and the incredible response encouraged the songwriters to develop an in-depth study based on the concept that in talking about dying, our living will be transformed.

The Vail Church will be diving into a 30-day journey of what matters most beginning Sept. 14 and continuing through Oct. 12. This will be an opportunity to pause and reflect on the real issues of life. Each Sunday for one month, we will focus on issues like speaking sweeter, loving deeper and giving forgiveness in hopes that you will develop a deeper sense of purpose. All walks of life, no matter your spiritual background, are invited to join us in this life-changing journey.
Service Times: Sundays, 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Childcare: Nursery, preschool and children’s church during both services.
The Vail Church, 39209 U.S. Highway 6, Eagle-Vail, 970-949-6585.

What would you do if you only had 30 days left to live? Please let us know by visiting the www.thevailchurch.com homepage. Just enter your answer and submit.
