OMG, Zac Efron youre so dreamy! LOL! Teeny boppers came out in full force this past weekend making High School Musical 3: Senior Year No. 1 at the box office.
The East High Wildcats have a dilemma what to do for their spring play production? Its nearing the end of senior year, and basketball season has come to a close (they won the championship, of course). All thats left is prom and graduation and then its time to go their separate ways ... because theres no spring break in this Disney flick. Alas the oh-so-original theme of the spring musical is prom and graduation. Why not base the entire production on their everyday life? Thats the point of acting, right? Completely in tune with reality, everyone hangs out together at East High, no matter their race or grade, or if theyre an athlete, cheerleader or drama kid. Coincidentally, they all perform in the spring musical, too.
So back again for more perfectly choreographed fun is the High School Musical gang with leading couple, Troy and Gabriella (played by Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens). The group faces big life choices, like who to take to prom and which college to attend. It wont be smooth sailing for Zac and Gabriella, as Gabriella gets early spring admission to Stanford, and Zac is planning on playing basketball for daddys alma mater, U of A.
Will Gabriella make it back from Stanford to save the musical? Can Troy give up performing on stage for basketball? Better yet, will Troy stop flat ironing his hair like a little girl once he goes off to college? These kids will have to make some life-changing decisions, and Ill let you guess whether it all works out flawlessly or not.
Parents, no need to worry, Disney still knows how to make wholesome movies for kids of all age groups to enjoy. The musical soundtrack has 10 new, profanity-free pop songs for you to hum to while picking up carpool in the mini-van. You may even find yourself tapping your feet in tune at the movie theater that is if you can stomach the cheesy one-liners.
