EDWARDS, Colorado The Eagle Valley Alliance for Sustainability is hosting the November Eagle Valley Green Drinks on Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Dish Restaurant in Edwards.
This event is free of charge and open to the public. Green Drinks is a community event centered on socializing while discussing lifestyles of health and environmental sustainability. It is an opportunity to get to know others in the community, learn about green living and what that means in our unique community.
Theres a ton of activity and energy out there surrounding green, said Matt Scherr, executive director of the Eagle Valley Alliance. We honestly dont even know what green means, but Green Drinks gives everyone an opportunity to learn about this revolution and share their stories about creating their own energy, discovering local commerce, community agriculture, healthy homes and anything else under the great green umbrella.
Known around the valley as adeceptively simple innovative dining experience Dish will host this months Green Drinks and offer its globally-influenced small plates using local, organic farmers and ranchers goods, prepared with respect and talent. Beer and cocktail specials will be available to pair with the food.
Hot off the press this month is the Alliances new membership program. To celebrate the momentous occasion the Alliance will pay tribute to itself this month by giving away a membership to one most fortunate attendee of Green Drinks.
Green Drinks events are fun, rigidly informal, simple and unstructured, Scherr said. Many people have found employment, made friends, developed new ideas, done deals and had moments of serendipity. Its a force for good times. Its a great way of catching up with people you know and also for making new contacts and for learning what a cool, green vision of the future looks like.
The Eagle Valley Alliance will help to arrange carpools for those interested. Call the Alliance at 970-569-3890 for information.
