PAGOSA SPRINGS, Colorado — Law enforcement officers across Colorado are searching for a teenage girl believed to have been taken from Pagosa Springs, and police say she and her abductor may be headed for Mexico.
Pagosa Springs police issued an Amber Alert early Wednesday for 15-year-old Kanyon Nicely, saying she may be in a stolen vehicle with 20-year-old Travis Farmer.
Police say Farmer stole a white Dodge Ram 2500 pickup from his employer. The extended cab pickup has Precision Asphalt Paving logos on the driver and passenger doors, and a 100-gallon fuel tank in the bed.
It has Colorado license plate 534 LZA.
Det. Scott Maxwell says Farmer was last seen leaving his sister’s Pagosa Springs home, and that he left a note saying he was afraid to return to prison in a separate case.
