VAIL — Colorado Mountain Express made a $25,000 contribution to the Colorado State Patrol Tuesday night in support of its “Alive at 25” teen driving safety program. The contribution, made at The Lodge at Vail, was made on the 25th anniversary of CME.

CME’s president Jay Ufer said in a press release that the money will go towards teaching young drivers in area high schools to make smart driving decisions and becoming more aware of common driving hazards facing young drivers today.

Col. Mark Trostel of the state patrol said students who complete the training are 72 percent less likely to be killed in a car crash before their 25th birthday as compared to national statistics.
