Vail Local Marketing District is seeking vendors
VAIL The Vail Local Marketing District is seeking proposals from qualified marketing vendors to assist with its 2009 promotional initiatives. In issuing a request for qualifications , the district has set an aggressive timeline to replace the current vendor, Untraditional Marketing, which is ending its contract with the district effective Dec. 31.
The Vail Local Marketing District is responsible for summer and shoulder season marketing programs funded by a 1.4 percent Vail lodging tax which generates approximately $2 million per year. A nine-member advisory group is responsible for making recommendations to the district board.
The new marketing vendor must meet five objectives, including:
Drive short-term, Front Range, overnight traffic to Vail during the months of May through October.
Build on past successful initiatives such as Spad at Vail, Vail at $81.50 and Vail All the Love.
Continue to increase awareness and complement brand messaging.

The selection process includes narrowing the field to three firms by Jan. 12, presentations to the Vail Local Marketing District Advisory Council on Jan. 15 and selection on Jan. 16.

Local architecture company featured in LUXE magazine
VAIL Two homes designed by local architecture firm K.H. Webb were featured on the cover of the two most recent issues of LUXE Magazine, a quarterly journal that showcases luxury residential architecture, design, interiors and products. The magazine selects four homes from throughout Colorado to feature in each issue. I am very proud of our team. Christy Sports introduces Ultimate Demo Ski Pass
LAKEWOOD Christy Sports, has unveiled theUltimate Demo Ski Pass. The pass allows skiers guaranteed access to various types of this years top-of-the-line skis. A 10-day rental pass costs $250, a 20-day pass is $350, and an unlimited pass is $450. The pass must be purchased before Jan. 12. Customers must call Christy Sports reservation phone number (1-888-413-6966) five days prior to the first time using the pass.

This program is geared towards frequent skiers who already own ski boots, and want to avoid purchasing new skis and lugging them to the resort said Patrick OWinter, CEO of Christy Sports.
