'Gran Torino' comes to Riverwalk in Edwards Friday

For his fourth directorial feature in the span of two years, Clint Eastwood tells the story of a grizzled Korean War vet's reluctant friendship with a Hmong teenage boy and his immigrant family. Set in contemporary Detroit, Gran Torino tackles the shifting cultural and economic landscape of not only the Motor City, but America as well. Rated R.

“THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON”

Brad Pitt stars in the unusual tale of a man who is born in his 80s and ages backward. Set in New Orleans at the end of World War I to the 21st century. With Cate Blanchett, Taraji P. Henson, Tilda Swinton, Jason Flemyng and Elias Koteas. Screenplay by Eric Roth, from a screen story by Roth and Robin Swicord, based on the short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Directed by David Fincher.

“MARLEY & ME”

Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston star in this adaptation of John Grogan's bestseller about the family of a neurotic dog. Directed by David Frankel.

“BEDTIME STORIES”

Adam Sandler stars as a man who tells his nephews outlandish versions of the titular tales — which unexpectedly begin coming true. With Keri Russell. Directed by Adam Shankman.

“YES MAN”

Jim Carrey stars as a man who enlists in a self-help program based on the concept of answering everything in the affirmative and finds that positivity has its drawbacks. With Zooey Deschanel, Bradley Cooper, Rhys Darby, John Michael Higgins, Danny Masterson and Terence Stamp. Screenplay by Nicholas Stoller and Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel. Directed by Peyton Reed.
