Upcoming: Vail Resorts is working on plans for Ever Vail, a new green ski village planned for West Lionshead. The approval process starts when Ever Vail goes before Vail’s Planning and Environmental Commissioner and Design Review Board this week.
Also, the company continues working on plans for the North Day Lot on the south frontage road in Lionshead. The company is committed to building 120 employee beds as part of it’s obligations for the Arrabelle in Lionshead.
Finished: Grand opening for the Seibert Circle Fountain at the top of Bridge Street is set for Jan. 15. The water-spouting, fire-shooting fountain was turned on in December.
The Vail Resorts chalets near the base of the Vista Bahn were recently completed, said Tom Miller of Vail Resorts Development Co.
The chalets are part of the Front Door project, which includes 13 townhomes, a skier services building, the private Vail Mountain Club, a loading dock, an underground garage, a spa and an addition to the Lodge at Vail.

Solaris
Work on the steel frame of Peter Knobel’s Vail Village project will continue through January. The metal skeleton of the building is expected to be done by the end of April, said Craig Cohn, director of sales, marketing and leasing for the project.
The finished project will have 77 condos, a three-screen movie theater, a 10-lane bowling alley, stores, restaurants and an ice rink/public plaza. The project is expected to be completed in April 2010.
Landmark Condominiums
Concrete work in the Lionshead project’s lobby began earlier this week. Also, despite heavy snow, workers are finishing steel decks on some of the building’s top floors. Concrete for the building’s clocktower floors will be poured this month, said Howard Olsen, senior project manager at Alter Construction.
The seven-floor building will have 17 condos and a clocktower.
The Landmark is above Billy’s Island Grill, North Face, the General Store and One Track Mind. Plans also include a new exterior for the existing buildings. The project is supposed to be completed in spring 2010.
Tower Residences
Crews are setting the steel for the project’s north tower. The tower and the roof are expected to be finished by the middle of January, said Tony Faulhaber, project manager with Viele Construction.
Next, work will start on the parking garage and the west tower. All the steel work is expected to be finished by mid-March.
“All in all things are going pretty close to schedule. We’re on track for our December 2009 completion,” Faulhaber said.
The project expands the existing condos and adds nine new condos to the Lionsquare North building. It will also give the building a new exterior.
Ritz Carlton
Concrete is being poured from the hotel’s garage to the fifth floor, the top level.
Vail Resorts’ Ritz-Carlton Residences are in Lionshead at the corner of South Frontage and West Forest roads, next to the Vail Marriott. It will have 71 condos and is scheduled for completion for late summer 2010.
Arrabelle
The newest part of Lionshead is up and running, but workers are still finishing the streetscaping and fireplaces.
Work will probably continue until 2010. The Arrabelle has 66 condos, 36 hotel rooms, a spa, meeting rooms, a restaurant, locker rooms, offices, stores, parking and a loading dock. The stores include Burton, Vail Sports, Patagonia, Quiksilver and Starbucks. The restaurants are Blue Moose Pizza, Centre V, the Vail Chophouse and Rimini, a sweets shop.
Bridge Street Building
All the core work has been completed in the new Vail Village building, and outside work is still being finished up, said Mark Hallenbeck of Highland Builders.
Joe’s Deli, which is in the basement of the building, will be opened in the next few weeks, and the Ritz Carlton Club is expected to open in March.
The project started at the end of last ski season and is expected to be finished in late April.
Four Seasons
The Four Seasons Resort Vail construction site is teeming with 400 workers on site each day. Behind the wrap surrounding the building, stone work on the outside continues and the exterior siding is about to go on.
Windows have been installed in nearly all areas, further driving the construction pace. Interior framing continues in all wings of the resort, with private and fractional residences nearly completed.
The project includes 121 hotel rooms, 19 fractional residences and 16 condominiums. The site is located just southwest of the main Vail roundabout and will include a restaurant, spa, pool, library, apres ski lounge and select retail boutiques.
Vail Cascade Resort
The $30-million renovation on the hotel and spa is more or less complete, and workers are putting the finishing touches on the project, representatives of the resort said.
The Cascade improvements include a renovated entrance and lounge area and a new patio and pool area with two hot tubs and three fireplaces. New additions include restaurant called Atwater on Gore Creek, a resort retail shop operated by Charter Sports, and four new meeting rooms.
