BRECKENRIDGE, Colorado — A Breckenridge, Colorado man who allegedly charged at a group of people with a knife early Sunday morning was apprehend by police shortly afterwards, thanks to a witness who followed him into an alley behind Downstairs at Eric’s restaurant.

Henry Robert Hale, 47, was arrested at about 12:40 a.m. on Sunday after he allegedly pulled out a folding pocket knife and charged at five individuals who were walking home from the Gold Pan Saloon.

According to witnesses, Hale pushed his way through the group and then engaged in a verbal argument before a scuffle ensued.

One member in the party did get his jacket cut by the knife, but he was later released from St. Anthony’s Summit Medical after being treated for minor injuries, according to Breckenridge Police Department spokeswoman Kim Green.

Hale was taken to the Summit County Jail, where he was charged with second-degree assault with a weapon and five counts of menacing and intimidation.

He was released shortly after on a $7,500 bond.
