DENVER, Colorado — Gov. Bill Ritter says fewer immigrant workers are coming to Colorado because of tougher state laws.
Ritter said Thursday that immigration laws passed in 2006 have hurt Colorado's ski and hotel industries by making it harder to find enough seasonal workers.
He also says agricultural employers along the northern Front Range aren't finding as many immigrant workers as in the past.
Ritter spoke to a University of Denver panel studying the impacts of immigration. The panel will issue a report with policy recommendations in December.
The panel has taken up other issues in previous years, including water, the economy and the state constitution.
