VAIL, Colorado Vail Mountain had record snow iin January and more is coming to Colorado this weekend.
Ninety-nine inches of snow fell on Vail Mountain last month the most in January since the ski resort started keeping the mid-mountain statistic eight years ago. Last season, Vail got 97 inches of snow in January.
The mountain could get 4 to 8 inches of snow on Saturday night and Sunday, said Paul Frisbie, a forecaster with the National Weather Service. The snow will start falling after midnight on Saturday, Frisbie said.
The high temperature for the weekend is expected to be in the high 30s, according to Frisbie.
Theres a good chance of snow next week, too, Frisbie said. Snow is in the forecast for Monday, Tuesday and then again on Thursday, he said.
Itll be much more active next week, he said. Were getting back to winter.
