Did you count all the orange bags you saw along the highways a couple weekends ago?
And did you also count all the volunteers wearing their orange vest along the highways?
No, it wasn’t Halloween ... it was getting Eagle County’s roadways green again with the annual Community Pride Highway Clean-Up, put on by the Eagle River Watershed Council.
Around 75 teams with close to 800 members showed up early that Saturday morning in the light drizzle to head out and clean their share of the road system. Close to 125 miles were covered from East Vail to Dotsero, and Red Cliff to McCoy.
Most of the teams then went up to 4 Eagle Ranch where they were treated to an awesome BBQ, entertainment by Airborne, and commemortive tee shirts.
Many thanks go out to these volunteers for their care and concern about the beauty of Eagle County and taking time to participate in the largest annual community cleanup project.
This was one of the best that we’ve had, and everyone was in such great spirits regardless of getting wet in the light rain.
The Eagle River Watershed Council can’t thank the volunteers enough for their work in getting the roadways clean, green, and beautiful again.
