EAGLE, Colorado The Dusty Boot promises a kickin party in Eagle, Colorado this weekend.
Boot Days, a three-day festival at the restaurant, include bands, bike rides and barbecues. Dusty Boot owner John Shipp said Boot Days will be the first of many free events at the eatery.
When we first were looking at this lot three years ago, I envisioned being able to do spring, fall and summer festivals, he said.
The party kicks off Friday night with live music on the deck from Vail rock-bluegrass band Laughing Bones.
Along with music, Boot Days boasts plenty of activities for cyclists on Saturday and Sunday. Visitors to the festival can partake in bike rides along mountain trails, Shipp said. They can also test out bikes from several cycling companies or sign up for clinics on how to change tires and oil chains, he said.
Boot Days is one of several events that have been planned this month as part of Eagle Bike Month.
A group of Eagle businesses have organized events to promote the towns image as a cycling hotspot.
Eagle has great trails if youre an avid mountain biker, Shipp said. Its really celebrating the fact that were an early season biking destination.
The Dusty Boot and several other Eagle County businesses are sponsoring Boot Days. Shipp hopes 500 to 1,000 people will attend.
Gypsum resident Bubby Conway, 52, said he plans to stop by the Dusty Boot to socialize.
Im going to swing by to see what theyve got to eat and have a few drinks, he said.
Gypsum resident Knuckles Gale, 43, said hes thinking about heading to Boot Days. Gale said he thinks his 6- and 9-year old daughters will enjoy the bike clinics. He wants to sign up for a casting lesson.
Were excited to come check it out, he said. Im sure it will be a huge turnout.
