I first want to thank everyone who either called or e-mailed me last year with information about nesting raptors. Because of your help, we verified (at a minimum) three fledged golden eaglets from two of five known nests, six fledged ospreys from two nests, 33 fledged red-tail hawks from 18 nests and an unknown number of great horned owls from one nest. What a success! I'm hoping to continue this work again this year. If you know of an eagle, hawk, owl or falcon nest, I would monitor it to determine if it is active and if the parents are successful in raising their young! I think it is important to know how these populations are doing here in Eagle County. You can call me at 970-926-1129 or e-mail me at beanzboy@
centurytel.net. Thanks, Rich Ranieri.
