EDWARDS, Colorado — Winemaker Lucio Gomiero of the Vignalta Winery will be at Matthew's in Edwards, Colorado for an informal meet and greet happy hour on Saturday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Three Vignalta wines will be paired with Matthew's appetizers.
“We have had great success with the wine dinners that we have done so far,” said Elena Jones, co-owner of Matthew's. “Since this winemaker will be at Splendido on Friday night in a more formal setting, we thought that it would be fun to have him visit us in a relaxed casual setting for a meet and greet. This will give Italian wine fans the chance to really talk to the winemaker.”
The wines Matthew's and Gomiero will be sharing are: Pinot Bianco, a full-bodied white wine; Venda, which is a merlot and cabernet blend grown at a high elevation in the Colli Euganei in the Mount Venda Vineyard; and Agno Tinto, a syrah-based blend with a small percentage of other Italian varieties, including marzemino.
The set price is $30, which includes the three wines and chef and owner Matt Jones' appetizers.
