VAIL, Colorado —A performance of movie scores in Vail, Colorado means dressing up as your favorite movie character.

The Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival presents an evening of John Williams performed by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra July 6 at 6 p.m., at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater in Vail. Children of all ages should come dressed as their favorite character from a movie orchestrated by Williams.

Conductor Richard Kaufman will lead the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Williams' music from films such as “Star Wars,” “Jaws,” “Jurassic Park,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “Memoirs of a Geisha.”

Concert attendees are encouraged to dress up as their favorite John Williams movie character, such as Luke Skywalker, Indiana Jones, Superman, Captain Hook, E.T., Harry Potter, or even Tyrannosaurus Rex. A costume extravaganza will take place during intermission.

“This concert is a perfect way to introduce children to classical music because it's music that they are familiar with, even though they might not realize the classical origins,” says Liz Campbell, director of education and community outreach at Bravo! “Families will definitely enjoy this concert because all generations can relate to John Williams' music.”

Tickets are $60 for premium reserved, $48 for regular reserved, and $23 for lawn seating. Children 12 and under are free for lawn seating. For a complete Festival lineup and to purchase tickets, visit www.vailmusicfestival.org or call 877.812.5700.
