VAIL, Colorado — Broadway is coming to the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater in Vail, Colorado Friday night.

The Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival presents “Curtain Up! Roll Camera! From Broadway to Hollywood” with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra at 6 p.m.

Leading this jazzy evening is conductor Richard Kaufman, who has devoted much of his musical life to conducting and supervising music for film and television.

The concert also concert features guest vocalists who are two of America's leading musical theater performers: Ron Raines and Lisa Vroman.

Raines' talent ranges from Hollywood to Broadway, from his portrayal on stage of legendary character Billy Flynn from “Chicago” to his award-winning daytime television role on “Guiding Light.” Vroman has starred for several years as Christine Daae in “The Phantom of the Opera.”

Expect to hear favorites such as the “Trolley Song” from “Meet Me in St. Louis,” “Luck Be a Lady” from “Guys and Dolls,” and several selections from “South Pacific.”

“Tonight's performance is an ideal first for people who have never experienced a live orchestral performance before,” said Lynne Mazza, Bravo's associate artistic director. “The program is upbeat, jolly and tugs at your heart strings.”
