VAIL VALLEY, Colorado— For this year's Fourth of July celebration in Beaver Creek will bring some big rock and rollers to Colorado's Vail Valley.

Alto Reed's Blues Entourage, a band that includes Reed, a founder of Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, and George Terry, a veteren guitarist for Eric Clapton, will perform a free show in Beaver Creek Saturday.

Reed has never played in the Vail area before, but has enjoyed the community during holiday visits, he said.

“We can't wait to see the Vail audience ... I'm looking forward to entertaining everybody. That's what I was put on this planet to do,” he said.

The outoor show on Beaver Creek's back lawn should be an awesome environment, Reed said.

“Summer time up here in the mountains — it's the best. It's beautiful,” he said. “This is good time rock and blues. It will entertain you, and we want you to sing, dance and stomp your feet.”

Other members of the Blues Entourage have played with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Rod Stewart and Annie Lennox, to name a few.

“The players have played with a variety of major league artists ... It's a cavalcade of all stars and all star music,” he said.

Members of the band are Reed's friends that he has met throughout his many years in the music industry. His relationship with other musicians makes it so he can add a variety of renowned musicians to different shows.

“The idea is to bring the collective energy, the style, the performance that is major league world class,” he said.

Reed said fans of Bob Seger, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen, and that whole era of music, will recognize the sound, and old favorites.

“It's classic blues, classic rock, and everything in between,” he said.

Alto Reed's Blues Entourage will take the stage on Beaver Creek's back lawn at 6 p.m. on Saturday. The Neville Brother's will perform at 7:45 p.m.

If you find yourself swinging to the Blues Entourage, they will release an album of live and studio recordings in the next few months, Reed said.
