Stolen coins
Police investigated a Gypsum man's claim that a longtime female acquaintance stole several rolls of rare coins and some Percocets from his home.
The victim told police that the woman had visited his home on June 15. As she was preparing to leave his home with her child, she asked the man to load the child's walker into her car. The man said that when he came back inside the house, he saw the woman quickly exiting his bedroom and shoving something into her diaper bag.
The man noticed 10 of the Percocets he takes for pain were missing. He also discovered several rolls of presidential coins worth $175 had disappeared.
A clerk at the Stop-n-Save in Gypsum said she saw the woman buy items using the coins and had video of the transaction.
