AVON, Colorado — Thunderbird Artists, a family owned and operated company based in Arizona, is bringing the 16th annual Avon Fine Art & Wine Affaire to town Friday through Sunday. That means award-winning artists, fine wines and delicious cuisine.
Nottingham Park provides an scenic backdrop for oils on canvas, watercolors, acrylics and mixed media paintings in various subjects. Also on display will be small, medium and life-sized bronze sculptures, hand-blown glass sculptures, intricate metal work, wood, clay and mixed media sculptures, handcrafted jewelry, and photography.
The artists come from throughout the United States and abroad. Some of the Colorado artists taking part include: oil-painter Katherine McNeill, photographer John Richter, glass sculptor Ralph Parker, and landscape painter Melinda Nemechek.
Schlossadler International Wines will host a wine-tasting. For $10, patrons will receive a souvenir wine glass and six tasting tickets to sample a selection of wines, specializing in German and Australian wines.
Admission and parking are free all weekend. The festival is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Additional information can be found at: www.ThunderbirdArtists.com
