DENVER, Colorado — A decline in passengers at the Denver airport resulted in a slight dip in revenues for the first quarter this year.
An unaudited financial report issued Friday showed Denver International Airport's revenues totaled $130 million for the period that ended March 31. That's a 1.4 percent drop from the $131.9 million reported in the same period a year ago.
Stan Koniz, the airport's manager of aviation/finance and administration, says passenger traffic dropped 5.7 percent through March. There was less revenue from concessions, parking and car rentals.
Operating expenses, excluding depreciation and amortization, declined 19.5 percent to $63.3 million due to lower costs for personnel, repair and maintenance expenses.
