More bones found near site of human skull in Colorado

Investigators haven't determined the name or sex of the dead person or said when the death occurred

SOMERSET, Colrado — Investigators have found more bones and other evidence on a western Colorado hillside where a human skull was found last weekend.

Gunnison County Undersheriff Rick Besecker said Wednesday the additional bones are believed to be human.

Investigators haven't determined the name or sex of the dead person or said when the death occurred. Besecker says the bones could have been there a long time.

He declined to give any specifics about the other evidence investigators found.

A firewood gatherer found the skull Saturday along Bear Creek near Somerset, about 60 miles east of Grand Junction and 140 miles west of Denver.
