Eagle Valley High School to host college fair

GYPSUM, Colorado -Students will have the chance to meet with over 35 college representatives at the Colorado Council College Fair on Oct. 8. Eagle Valley High School, 641 Valley Road in Gypsum, will host the event from 10 to 11:30 a.m.Representatives will meet students, and hand out information about their academic programs, campus life and financial aid opportunities and scholarships.Students in any stage of their post-secondary searches can benefit from the college fair, said Tammi Boeke, Eagle Valley High School counselor."If a student knows exactly where they'd like to go, he/she can ask specific questions to the college representatives," she said. "If a student is still exploring different college options, they have the opportunity to ask general questions to many college representatives to compare and get a feel for the different cultures and expectations at different institutions."Examples of participating institutions include: Adams State College, Colorado Mountain College, Colorado School of Mines, Colorado State University, Grand Canyon University, Hastings College, Johnson & Whales University, Mesa State, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, United States Air Force Academy, University of Colorado, University of Northern Colorado, University of Denver, University of Maine, University of Nebraska at Kearney and University of Wyoming.For more information, contact Boeke at 970-328-5185 or by e-mail at tammi.boeke@eagleschools.net.
