Eagle County Volunteer Services is sponsoring a volunteer fair from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 27 at Colorado Mountain College in Edwards. The following nonprofits and community agencies will be in attendance: CASA of the Continental Divide, Eagle River Youth Coalition, Eagle Valley Alliance for Sustainability, Girl Scouts of America, Gore Range Natural Science School, Habitat for Humanity, the Literacy Project, Red Ribbon Project, SOS Outreach, Youth Foundation, Vail Valley Foundation, Salvation Army, Colorado State University Extension, Vail Valley Medical Center and Vail Jazz Foundation.
“This is a great opportunity for anyone in the valley to come and learn more about our community-serving organizations and to network and develop career-building partnerships,” said Holly Kasper, volunteer center coordinator. “The Eagle County Volunteer Fair is a great event for individuals who want to get involved and serve the community to stop by and learn how to get started.”
Eagle County Volunteer Services assists volunteers of all ages in finding opportunities for civic engagement.
“Volunteer Services believes anyone can make a difference may it be one day a year, one day a month or more,” said Kasper.
The Eagle County Volunteer Fair is scheduled in honor of Make a Difference Day, which is Oct. 24. Created by USA Weekend magazine, Make a Difference Day is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of every October. It is a nationally recognized day in which people are encouraged to help others. Contact Volunteer Services at 328-8843 or volunteers@eaglecounty.us for more information.
