Storm gone, Colorado highways now open

Operations at Denver International Airport are back to "normal"

The huge storm that blanketed the Front Range Wednesday and Thursday has moved on and roads and highways on the eastern plains, an area hit with "ground blizzards," have re-opened.

The last closed major traffic artery - the northbound lanes of I-25 north of Wellington to Wyoming — reopened by 3:30 p.m.. Colorado Highway 93 between Golden and Boulder was closed much of thedday, but reopened about 2:45 p.m.

Operations at Denver International Airport, which suffered through the cancelation of hundreds of flights Thursday, are back to "normal," said Chuck Cannon, an airport spokesman.

All six runways at the airport are in use today, on Thursday DIA was reduced to running two runways because of snow, blowing snow, and reduced visibilities.

"There are no long lines" at the airport and it's "normal operations," Cannon said.

Lindsey Purves, a spokeswoman with Frontier Airlines, said her carrier has no cancellations today with "just minimal delays."

"Everything is running pretty well," Purves said. "All in all, it's a great day after for us."
