This letter is in response to a letter written by Mr. Luhman regarding the Edwards fieldhouse.
Mr. Luhman, I think you should rethink your opinion. How could you say that the Edwards fieldhouse is a bad investment? A facility where adults and children can go to play sports sounds like an excellent investment, especially in an area where outdoor sports, such as soccer, can only be played a few months out of the year.
The fieldhouse is located right by a beautiful new high school and a large housing community. If I were a parent, I would love to have a place where my kids can go after school to play sports and hang out with their friends, a place that is right down the road from my house!
I've played indoor soccer for many years and it's not only a great way to stay in shape during the months where playing outdoor soccer is near impossible, it also creates a fun atmosphere for people to enjoy the sport, get better at it, and have fun with their friends.
The semi-pro team will give the community a great avenue to see some good soccer and give local kids a positive influence to look up to.
Instead of spewing hate on why you hate the fieldhouse, what would you spend tax money on? I would love to hear your answer.
