VAIL, Colorado — To celebrate opening day, Vail Mountain will host the first annual Bud Light Snuggie Pub Crawl on Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Vail Village.

A limited supply of free Snuggies will be distributed to participants at The George, Red Lion, Vendettas and The Club. Pub-crawlers will have the chance to win a pair of K2 skis, two VIP passes to Vail Snow Daze and tickets to the star-studded Yukon Kornelius concert.

“Vail wanted to blow-out opening day this year and the Bud Light Snuggie Pub Crawl is a fun way to keep the celebration and excitement going off the mountain and in to the evening,” said Katie Richardson, marketing manager for Vail Mountain. “We anticipate Snuggies to go quickly so participants should plan on arriving to their bar of choice prompting at 7 p.m.”

The Snuggie Pub Crawl concept started out as a fun and silly idea amongst friends, says SnuggiePubCrawl.com co-founder Dan Kuthy. The Web site launched in February 2009 and soon received more than 225,000 hits with people from around the country eager to get warm and comfy in public. To date, there has been hundreds of Snuggie Pub Crawls held in cities and college campuses across the country.

Vail's first-ever Snuggie Pub Crawl will close out Vail Mountain's opening day festivities that kicks-off in Lionshead with music, giveaways and $1 croissant breakfast sandwiches provided by Centre V with proceeds benefiting the Vail Valley Charitable Fund starting at 8:30 a.m. The opening weekend celebrations will wrap-up on Saturday with a free Freddy Jones Band concert at Vail Square in Lionshead at 3 p.m. For more information, visit www.vail.com.
