COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado — Don't mess with the Subway sandwich clerks in Colorado Springs.
Police say a Subway employee who was robbed at gunpoint Thursday evening followed the robber into the parking lot, tackled him and retrieved the money.
The employee wasn't named, and the male robber fled before police could arrive.
The Gazette newspaper reported that in April, another clerk at a Colorado Springs Subway shop chased a would-be robber out of the shop with a 6-inch bread knife.
Police are investigating the most recent robbery attempt. They did not say how much cash the tackling Subway employee recovered.
