Mountain states including Colorado are expected to have 2.5 million travelers this Thanksgiving holiday weekend (Nov. 25-29), up 0.3 percent over the same weekend in 2008 but still down from 2007, according to a press release from AAA.
“Last year, Thanksgiving travel dropped a steep 25.2 percent nationwide in the wake of the ongoing housing and financial crisis,” according to the press release.
Airfares are expected to be down 4 percent and car rental prices down 3 percent relative to 2008. AAA's projections are based on research by IHS Global Insight.
